Rachel Collins is an award-winning actor and improviser based out of New York City.
Rachel most recently joined the cast of Hamlet in Bryant Park Presents Shakespeare as part of their Bryant Park Picnics series. She recently worked with The Drilling Co on C. Denby Swanson’s newest play Gabriel, where she originated the role of Brenda. Other credits with The Drilling Co. in Bryant Park include Fabian in 12th Night in Bryant Park Presents Shakespeare, Measure for Measure as the Provost, and As You Like It as Phoebe, where she had previously received a mention in the New York Times for her performance in the Clemente Parking Lot.
NYC theater credits include Big Apple Bytes on Governors Island, Sublet at New Perspectives (Christy), R-Culture (Player 2) Off-Broadway at IRT and Quest of the Hero! (Henchwoman) with C.A.G.E Theatre Company in the Planet Connections Theater Festivity (Nominated Best Ensemble). Regionally, she has worked with Ozark Actors Theatre in Rolla, MO appearing in Peter Pan (Tinkerbell), Fools (Snetsky) and Into The Woods (Florinda).
Film credits include “Homicide for the Holidays” on the Oxygen Network, “Happy Hour Feminism” from XO Feminist Productions, as well as some commercial work.
She is approved for Advanced Study after completing the core curriculum of the Upright Citizens Brigade improv training, is a member of American Candy, and was previously a performing member of Florida Studio Theatre’s Professional Improv Troupe and The Downtowner in the Lower East Side. She is also an alum of the Acting Apprentice Company at Florida Studio Theatre in Sarasota, FL. There, she performed in a number of TYA productions in FST’s Award Winning Write-A-Play Program.
She is a proud member of Actors Equity, The Drilling Company, a member of Ego Actus’ Advisory Council, and is in the acting company of New York Madness. She graduated magna cum laude with a BFA in Theater Performance from Ohio University’s Honors Tutorial College. She also enjoys craft beer, the Cincinnati Bengals, and tacking personal information at the bottom of her bios.
